Hi beautiful, I'm Gem.
Clinical Naturopath (BHSc)
Holistic Personal Trainer
Owner of Kahwana Health

My journey into Naturopathy is deeply rooted
in my own personal health story.
As a teenager trying to fit into society’s idea of beauty, I starved myself of key nutrients,
lost my period for a year, and struggled with painful acne.
I was constantly told by health professionals that acne was normal for teenagers and
that my only options were the pill or Roaccutane.
I felt unheard, unseen, and completely disconnected from my body —
while my symptoms quietly consumed me from the inside out.
I remember seeing a Naturopath for the very first time.
For the first time, everything made sense. I began to truly listen to my body. I changed my diet,
started using food as medicine,
and learnt the importance of boundaries and routine.
Day by day, I noticed my skin begin to heal, my energy return, and my mood lift.
Now, I hope to offer others what I found in that moment — genuine understanding, compassion, and guidance.
I want to create a space where you are never rushed, never dismissed, and always treated as a whole person.
My mission is to be a Naturopath who not only knows her craft, but makes a meaningful difference in your life.

The story behind our name:
Kahwana - (verb) - Māori
To bud, shoot (of a plant), sprout, come to life.
Wana means a bud or sprout coming to life — a gentle reminder of growth, renewal, and the beauty of beginnings. It also carries the feeling of being exciting and inspiring.
At Kahwana Health, our mission is to nurture men and women on their journey to vibrant health. Just like a bud unfurling into full bloom, we’re here to support you in finding your energy, balance, and joy — so you can thrive in every part of your life.
